Acre & Holt celebrates the great outdoors and the perfect tweed clothing for working in harmony with nature - something that we have all become more conscious of over the last two years.
Our love affair with tweed began in 2013 when, as Settlers Stores, we started working with small mills in Scotland who weave our bespoke designs. Roll on to 2020 and a combination of Covid and Brexit meant that Nathalie (the French half of Settlers Stores) decided to relocate and resettle in sunnier climes. It felt the right time to shift the focus in our tweed clothing to a more inclusive work wear style that resonates more with me, Zara, the founder.
Working in collaboration with the renowned landscape designer and gardener, Marian Boswall, we have created our Hort Couture collection and the working women's gilet is designed for women who live and work outside, who care passionately about the environment and want a sustainable garment that will become a friend for life aka acker (the old Somerset spelling of acre and also meaning old friend).
